4 Room Dormer Conversion
Our client contacted Magic Lofts in the hope that through extending the height of their property and constructing a dormer loft conversion, they could add an entire new floor to their home.
Due to the scale and complexity of the task on hand, our team started the project by raising the height of both the roof and ridge to allow plenty of renovation space. They opted for building up two gable ends to maximise the floorplan; both of which were installed with matching brickwork to maintain aesthetics. The dormer itself was then able to achieve a rear box size of an exceptional 13m allowing vast usable living space for the client.
Inside the dormer was several rooms including one large double bedroom, one therapy room, one craft and hobby room, along with a shower room and plenty of storage cupboards. The interior took on a sleek hanging tile dormer finish with a solid oak staircase leading up. To enhance the amount of natural lighting in each room, the client opted for installing feature Keylite roof windows and oak doors.
Unlike many loft conversions, to ensure that results were accessible and fully functional, we also carried out work on the ground floor of the property. Not only was the porch extended to create a larger entrance hallway to fit the staircase, but the dividing walls between bedrooms were knocked down to create one big room.
The final touches of the dormer loft conversion included a full new roof, external soffit lights and a hairdresser washbasin installed in the shower room.
